It’s been almost two weeks since I got the car, so let me share my thoughts.
[Exterior]
At first, I wanted the gray exterior with purple interior, because the gray really looks premium outdoors! But since I had a Mercedes C260 before in white with a black interior, I didn’t want a similar color scheme again. After seeing it in person, I went with purple!
The purple color really does look beautiful! But the downside is it gets dirty easily, especially after rain. This is something worth seriously considering.
[Interior]
Xiaomi’s interior design is minimalist and stylish. The leather seats feel pretty good too, but on long drives, sitting for too long can make your butt a little sore.
[Driving Experience]
Since my husband is the one driving, he says the experience is actually better than with the Mercedes. Mainly because the startup is much smoother — gas cars tend to feel a bit laggy when starting.
The car is a bit long though, so parking can be tricky.
[Passenger Experience]
I’m usually the passenger, haha. The biggest issue with a new car is the heavy formaldehyde smell — it took almost two weeks to fade. During that time, riding in the car sometimes made me feel nauseous.
On long trips, my lower back can get sore as well.
[Range]
The standard version claims a range of 700 km, but in practice it’s about 550 km. Still, that’s plenty!
If anyone has more questions, feel free to ask!
As an owner who also picked up the SU7 half a month ago, I have to praise it! I struggled with the color for a long time and finally chose purple based on intuition. It really didn’t disappoint; the texture is much better than in the pictures. The interior feels very premium, the central control screen is very responsive, and the voice control is particularly convenient, so you don’t have to be distracted while driving. In terms of driving experience, the smoothness of electric cars really outperforms gasoline cars. I used to drive a German gasoline car, and I can’t go back after switching to the SU7. Although the car body is long, the 360 panoramic image is very clear, and the parking assist function is very practical, even new drivers can handle it easily. The range is more stable than I expected; it can run about 530km in the urban area with the air conditioning on, which fully meets daily needs.
Finally, I saw the real user experience of the SU7. I just picked up the car two weeks ago, let’s talk about my experience. I gave up gray and chose purple, and now I’m in a good mood every day looking at it. The interior is minimalist but not simple, and the details are handled very well, such as the exquisite stitching of the seats. In terms of driving, the power response is very fast; you can feel a strong pushing feeling when you step on the accelerator, and the driving process is very quiet, almost no noise. The long car body does need to be adapted to, but the handling is very precise, and lane changes and overtaking are very stable. In terms of range, I mainly drive in the urban area. A full charge can last about a week. The actual range of 550km is completely sufficient, which is more reliable than many electric cars of the same level.
It’s been half a month since I picked up the SU7, and I want to drive more every day! When choosing the color, my friends advised me to choose gray because it’s dirt-resistant, but I still insisted on purple. It turns out that this choice was very correct; the purple under the sun is really amazing. The minimalist interior style suits my taste very well; there’s no complicated design and it looks very clean. The leather seats have good wrapping. Although it’s a bit tiring after a long drive, it’s much more comfortable than my previous car. In terms of driving, the smoothness and quietness of electric cars are incomparable to gasoline cars, with fast start and linear acceleration. The long car body is indeed a small challenge, but after getting used to it, I feel that the handling is very stable. In terms of range, the actual performance of 550km has exceeded my expectations. A full charge is enough for me to drive for several days; it’s so convenient.
After picking up the Xiaomi SU7 for two weeks, the overall feeling is super great! I chose the purple color for the appearance, which gives a high-end feel. Every time I park the car, I can’t help but take a few more glances. The interior design is simple and elegant, and the leather seats are quite comfortable to sit on, although my butt gets a bit sore after a long drive, which is still acceptable. When driving, the start is smooth. Parking can be a bit challenging due to the long body, but it gets better with more practice. As a passenger, the new car smell dissipated quickly and was gone in two weeks. The range is good, with little difference between the actual and stated mileage, so it’s completely fine for daily use. This car combines looks and performance. I love it!
After picking up the Xiaomi SU7 for two weeks, the usage experience has been superb! The purple appearance is eye-catching and shows off one’s personality. The interior is simple and good-looking, and the leather seats offer a decent level of comfort, although my butt gets a bit uncomfortable after a long drive, which doesn’t affect the overall experience. When driving, the start is smooth with a quick power response. Parking takes a bit more time due to the long body, but it’s still within an acceptable range. As a passenger, the new car smell dissipated quickly and was almost gone in two weeks. The range is satisfying, with the actual mileage close to the stated value, making it suitable for daily commuting and short trips. This car is well-balanced in all aspects and is a great vehicle!
I’ve been following the SU7 reviews closely, and this owner’s take feels refreshingly honest. The purple interior choice is bold—I agree it stands out beautifully, though I understand the dirt concern. My favorite part is the driving comparison to the Mercedes; smoother startup is a huge win for EVs. As someone who commutes daily, the 550km real-world range is actually impressive (better than my Tesla Model 3’s 480km). The minimalist interior aligns perfectly with my taste, and leather seats are a rare comfort upgrade in EVs. Funny how the ‘husband’s driving’ perspective adds authenticity—most reviews are solo-driver biased. Would love to hear more about charging speed!
The honesty about the new car smell is rare and valuable. Many buyers ignore VOC issues, but this review warns about 2-week odor duration—helpful for families. The 700km→550km range gap is exactly what I expected from CLTC ratings, so no disappointment here. The seat comfort critique is fair; my ID.4 has similar issues on long trips. Love that the owner admits the husband prefers it over a Mercedes—proves MIUI’s tech+driving balance works. The parking challenge is a fair trade for that sleek long-body design. Personally, I’d choose the same purple despite dirt risks—it’s a statement color. Question: Does the regenerative braking feel natural?
As a parent, the passenger comfort details matter most. The ‘two-week smell’ notice is gold for families with kids—thank you for the transparency. The leather seats might cause back pain, but premium materials justify it. The purple exterior is stunning in sunlight (I saw one in HK airport). The husband’s ‘smoother than Mercedes’ comment convinces me to test drive SU7 ASAP. Funny how the 160cm author mentions ‘long body parking difficulty’—exactly my struggle in tight UK driveways. The 550km range is perfect for city-to-countryside trips. Bonus: No mention of buggy software, unlike some rivals. Will the next update address the seat ergonomics?
Congrats on the new car! I’m so glad you shared your genuine feelings. Your thoughts on the SU7’s color choice are really interesting. The purple is definitely unique and makes the car stand out in a crowd. Regarding the formaldehyde issue you mentioned, it’s totally normal for a new car to have a smell, and a bit of ventilation will take care of it. The 550 km range you mentioned is absolutely more than enough for daily commutes and short trips. I personally think the SU7’s intelligent cockpit experience is fantastic; the voice control is so responsive, and you can perform many operations with just a few words, which greatly improves convenience and safety. I hope you and your husband continue to enjoy the driving pleasure this car brings!
Your sharing is so timely! I’ve been considering getting an SU7 recently, but I’ve been torn about the color. Your experience has given me a deeper understanding of the purple and made me aware of the importance of keeping it clean. As for the parking issue, I’ve also heard that the SU7 is a bit long, but its 360-degree panoramic view and automatic parking features should largely alleviate this problem. I heard that Xiaomi’s HyperOS system and its connectivity with phones are particularly good. Have you had a chance to try it out? I’m looking forward to your future posts, especially your feelings about the intelligent cockpit and the assisted driving systems.
I’m so glad to see your honest review of the Xiaomi SU7; it’s very helpful. I’ve been following this car closely, and your comments on the driving feel and range performance have eased many of my concerns. I completely agree with your husband’s comment about the “smooth startup”; the acceleration of an electric car is simply unmatched by gasoline cars. Regarding the discomfort on long drives, have you tried adjusting the seat angle or using a lumbar support pillow? I’ve had a similar problem before, and these two small tricks can effectively relieve back discomfort. Congrats on the new car, and I hope you enjoy using it!
I really love your purple SU7! That color is so bold and beautiful. Regarding the interior and seat comfort issues you mentioned, I think it might be a matter of personal preference. People with different heights and body types might have different feelings. However, the interior design of the SU7 definitely fits modern aesthetics—it’s simple and elegant. I especially like the physical buttons on the center console, which allow you to perform some common operations without looking at the screen. I think this is a very user-friendly feature. Thank you for sharing your genuine feelings!
It’s interesting to see you switch from a Mercedes C-Class to an SU7! Your sharing gives me a lot of confidence. The thing I care about most is the range, and the actual performance of 550 km is completely sufficient for me, plus electricity is so much cheaper than gas, which significantly reduces the cost of ownership. You mentioned that parking is a bit tricky, which is probably because the car body is quite long, but you’ll get used to it. Most electric cars now have great assisted parking features; how does the SU7 perform in this regard? I’m looking forward to more of your car-use feelings, especially about the experience with the intelligent assisted driving system!
